Expansive, beautiful prairie land park. Wonder how I'd missed coming here for so long. There's a small lake, or pond really. Good for fishing. There's also a small beachfront.
It also has some horseback riding trails.
Has some easy, medium, and very difficult bike trails.
I can't say I enjoyed Kill Creek Park, because I was there to remember my father. Having said that, it was the perfect venue. The pavilion had an incredible view of the water, and parking was convenient and plentiful. There were other people fishing, walking the paths, and boating on the creek. If it were warmer, I would have expected them on the beach as well. Reserving the pavilion was easy with a call to Johnson County Parks. Next time I return to Kansas City, I expect to enjoy Kill Creek Park properly.
Quite and not really busy most days. The park is very well kept up. A few times the vending machines have been empty. One of my family's favorite places to fish and hang out.
Great hidden gem of a park. Very serene and peaceful. Awesome place to take your family. Even has a little beach area.
Facilities seem okay, although I didn't actually experience them. Someone forgot to let everyone know the open water swim wasn't happening today. We went elsewhere. Will give it one more go to make sure they're not as unorganized as they appear. Triathletes rely on this sort of training at least post something somewhere whether on the phone number or on the website. Something!
