Very poor experience when I ordered exterior raised panel decorative shutters for the outside of our home. We were in the middle of putting new James Hardie siding on the outside of our home and planned to reuse the existing shutters, but unfortunately were damaged in trying to remove them. Ordered new shutters on 8/23 from Lowe's with their website showing an anticipated delivery of 9/2. I checked status on 8/30 and Lowe's website showed my order was in store for pickup. Contacted store and was told no they were not in as their system has a problem on special orders and shows status in error. I was informed shutters should be in on 9/4 which was no problem, and was told to call on that day. I called on 9/4 and was told they had not arrived yet, but should be on the delivery truck that evening and again was told to call after 7 PM to check status. Called at 8 PM, and was told they had not arrived, but should be on first truck in the morning. I called store at 8 AM on 9/5 and was told they were not in, but then transferred me to dept. manager. She said she would check with manufacturer/supplier and call me back on status. She called back 4 hours later to let me know they had not shipped yet, but should be in on 9/13 or 9/14. All the while my siding contractor is trying to schedule his crew to install the shutters. I called that afternoon and asked to talk with the store manager to express my displeasure and asked if he could look into it with the manufacturer/supplier and confirm that 9/13 or 9/14 were good dates. He called me back a few hours later to let me know that the date was probably not good as they had not even been manufactured yet and did not have a date when they would be produced. I ended up cancelling the order as Lowe's could not even provide me a date when I could expect to receive the product. I ended up ordering shutters from Home Depot. Very frustrating as we ended up losing 2 weeks in trying to complete our project versus if I had gone with Home Depot in the first place. Who knows how much time we would have lost if I had to wait for Lowe's to deliver. I understand issues with suppliers, but to be lied to multiple times by Lowe's customer service regarding commitment when product would be delivered was very frustrating. They definitely need to fix this process and their systems or get out of the business of placing special orders. Very disappointing and I doubt I will shop at Lowe's for any of my future home projects.

Generally good service, we visit here for all our home improvement and repair needs. Employees are honest when they don’t know and suggest another person we should refer to. We love to bring our dog as the employees love to pet him, give snuggles, and dog treats!

Great prices and quality goods are why we shop at Lowe's in the first place. It is very much an awesome and helpful staff and friendly service. They know their stuff. Last time I was there, there were customers with their dog and the cashier was very excited to see the dog and have it a treat. I'm glad that they have such a friendly policy towards pets and that makes a big difference in my book. Kinda feel like the good old days where you go in the hardware store and feeling part of the community.

One star is too much! Ordered cabinets for our kitchen, they were delivered about a month later and the delivery guy recommended we call Lowe's to let them know cabinets are in so the installer can come inspect them,as we only had 7 days to return if something was wrong. I called as soon as they left, Stephanie said she'd call Jim's Home Repair and he should be contacting us to set up install. A week passed, I called back and told Wayne nobody has called and that we understood the installer is busy but we just wanted on the schedule! He assured me he was going to call him again. Few more days went by, no call so we went into the store and talked to store manager. He assured us he was going to call the installer himself or find us another installer. That was about a week ago, no call from installer still and no call from the manager. Communication was key here, it would've kept us from getting so upset! I went into the store this morning and got refunded for the installation, we're just going to do it ourselves! Like I said earlier, we understood the installer was busy, we just wanted him or whomever to call and get us on the schedule! Nobody could call us. We're going to be remodeling our entire house, but will not be using Lowe's for any future remodeling. Our complaint was with the installer not calling to set up install date, but then we got the store manager involved and still nothing was done. The lack of communication here is unbelievable!

Unfortunately I've not had a great experience the two times I've been here. I've needed assistance both times and there was either no one around that I could find or the associates were simply messing around and unavailable to help. Even though this store is basically in my backyard, I drive to Home Depot instead as they are much more helpful and friendly with someone who is home improvement challenged, like myself. Hopefully they will improve with time and I'll be able to shop here in the future!
