I'm upset to see what this place has become. There has been improvements in the layout but the staff and the way they treat the animals is something I do not agree with. There seems to be minimal staff as I only say two employees at my last visit the entire duration. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the store though was the smell. I understand the smells animals produce but, out of all the times I've been here this was by far the worse. The smell of ammonia was almost sickening. Please Petland don't let it get to the 'eye burn' ammonia. Staff seemed far more concerned about playing with the animals than taking care of them. They wouldn't tell me where or how they got their animals either. Concerning but, not the worst. The animals I think need the most help is the birds, they are agressive and overcrowded in some cases. Many seem sick as they are unresponsive to even being knocked over by another bird in the enclosure. Also ive also felt this way since ive first visited and that is putting hermit crabs in decorated shells forcefully is a horrible thing.
It's disgusting how you still support puppy mills. Not only do you support thousands upon thousands of dogs to be euthanized each day at shelters, but you support deplorable living conditions for breeders at puppy mills. I'm glad you keep making your ignorant customer happy by providing sick, purebred dogs so you can make some money.
They screw up paperwork they give out your personal information to people that it doesn't belong to and three times I've been there at 9:30 when it says they open at 9 and they're closed. And conditions the puppies live in is nasty. And they let the puppies eat their own poop and they tell me that it's normal and I know that it's not.
Always love visiting here. Staff are friendly and helpful.
